“Be a free thinker and don’t accept everything you hear as truth. Be critical and evaluate what you believe in.” -Aristotle The Middle Years are a challenging time of transition for learners as they move from childhood to adolescence, seeking to gain greater confidence in dealing with the world. This crucial period of personal, social, physical, and intellectual growth is marked by uncertainty on one hand and increasing maturity on the other. The Middle Years Programme(MYP) builds on a student-centered foundation laid in the Primary Years Programme. It is built on developing what students know into an exciting journey of exploring more through research, application and active communication. The Middle Years Programme(MYP) at K.R. Mangalam Global School helps every child to develop synergistic thinking while acquiring a deeper understanding of disciplines. They expand their understanding of languages and cultures in significant personal, local and global context acquiring knowledge and skills through broad & balanced concurrent learning. Students engage in learning experiences planned in response to the inquiry questions and reflect on their learning and learning experiences.

“If we knew what we were are doing it wouldn’t be called research.” -Albert Einstein12

Students participate in service with in the community there by applying what they learn in the real-world, building a sense of responsibility that goes beyond intellectual development and academic success. Teachers use key and related concepts that are big ideas along with global contexts as vehicles for teaching effective learning strategies. Students learn to share experiences, work in teams and transfer knowledge and skills gained in one area to another. To enable students to reach the final objectives, the MYP has published objectives in each subject group. The age-appropriate objectives allow teachers to plan for learning over five years of the programme so that students are provided with scaffolded opportunities to reach the final objectives. Student’s learning of acquired skills is assessed using established criteria, including how to succeed in written examinations. Each student’s learning journey is also established through an exciting culmination by way of a long-term Personal Project. They choose a topic of interest which they wish to explore using a systematic research process.
